So. Utah: Zinfindel on the Zen Trail

About This Event

Let’s hop on the Zen Trail to enjoy Zinfindel in the Hippo Cave! This moderate route is a winding loop with sweeping views that will lead us to an exploration of Hippo Cave (a network of caves) where we can enjoy some Zin with Friends.

The Zen Trailhead offers a large network of trails, some very popular with mountain bikers. We’ll be taking more of a hiker’s route but should be prepared to encounter bicyclists.

TRAIL RATING: Moderate (804 feet of elevation gain)

LENGTH: 5.43 miles RT

CARPOOLING: Watch for an email from southernutah.whs@gmail.com about 5-7 days before the event for coordination.

GEAR:

• The Ten Essentials
• Proper clothing / layers for fall weather and hiking conditions
• Proper footwear
• Water and trail snacks
• Something lightweight to sit on while we stop to eat and drink (i.e., a backpacking chair, rain jacket, plastic bag, etc.)
• Hiking poles (optional but recommended)

Four-legged friends are welcome on this hike but must be kept on leash..
