About This Event
Come join us for a fun hike on the Summit Trail and Luther Rock, located near West Jefferson, NC!
This is our most challenging hike yet but, this beautiful trail takes you on a gradual ascent through enchanting red oak woodlands filled with rhododendrons and mountain laurels. You’ll be rewarded with amazing views, especially near the summit at Luther Rock, where you can soak in stunning sights of granite outcrops and the surrounding cliffs. Keep an eye out for some friendly wildlife along the way—deer, butterflies, and squirrels are often spotted!
The trail varies as you climb, offering a delightful mix of forest environments. Most hikers take about 2 to 3 hours to complete the hike, allowing plenty of time to snap some photos and enjoy the scenery.
In the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day, let’s bring some festive fun to our adventure! How green can you go? There may be a prize for the “Most Irish Spirit” 😉 Feel free to bring your favorite Irish drink to enjoy at the top. And after our hike, if anyone’s interested, we can grab lunch together afterward.
It’s just a 1:45 drive from Huntersville, NC—perfect for a day out in nature with friends! Can’t wait to see you there!
