Let’s hike to Frary Peak before the insects and heat take over Antelope Island. This hard hike offers fantastic views of Great Salt Lake and the Wasatch front. On a clear day one can see from Willard Peak to Mt. Nebo!
TRAIL RATING: Hard (2,335 feet of elevation gain) – To join this hard hike, you should be able to average 30-minute miles. While we don’t leave anyone behind, it is important to know your capabilities. That way, you do not put yourself or anyone else in danger. If this hike isn’t for you, no worries! We have lots of awesome hikes that are rated easy and moderate. Search for one here.
LENGTH: 6.9 miles RT
CARPOOLING: Watch for an email from slcounty.whs@gmail.com about 5-7 days before the event for coordination.

GEAR:
- The Ten Essentials
- Proper clothing / layers for spring hiking conditions
- Proper footwear
- Water and trail snacks
- Something lightweight to sit on while we stop to eat and drink (i.e., a backpacking chair, rain jacket, plastic bag, etc.)
- Hiking poles (optional but recommended)
- $15 entrance fee to Antelope Island State Park or a State Parks Pass + $2 Causeway Fee
Four-legged friends are welcome on this hike but must be kept on leash.
