About This Yurt Event
Join the Women’s Wine Hiking Society for a Galentine’s Snowshoe Escape! We’ll spend two nights in a super-cozy mountain yurt tucked high in the Wasatch Mountains—offering the perfect mix of remote adventure and easy access.
Spend your days snowshoeing through a sparkling winter wonderland, sledding, and soaking in the mountain magic, then unwind by the crackling wood-burning stove with games, laughter, and good company.
This Galentine’s getaway is all about cozy mountain vibes, connection, and winter fun!

Itinerary:

Day 1: Backpack / snowshoe ~2 miles to the yurt.
Day 2: Explore the surrounding area on snowshoes, do some sledding, and play games.
Day 3: Bid farewell to our snowy sanctuary, taking home warm memories and full hearts.

NOTE: You can backpack in or pull a backcountry sled. (We provide sled building instructions, or you can rent a backcountry sled from the University of Utah). If you choose to backpack in, you must have the following backpacking experience: —
- Need little to no direction on the following:
- How to pack you backpack
- What gear is required
- Clothing and footwear needed
- Basic trail finding
- Food / menu planning
- Leave No Trace Principles
Pricing is based on each attendee’s ability to be self-sufficient while backpacking. Below are requirements to attend this yurt backpacking trip.

WHAT’S INCLUDED:

- 3 days, 2 nights at a dreamy backcountry yurt – Your rustic, cozy home away from home, surrounded by nothing but breathtaking snowy wilderness.
- Yurt sleepover packing checklist – We’ve got you covered with the ultimate packing guide so you’ll be geared up and ready for all the fun.
- Two expert guides with first-aid and CPR certification – You’ll be in safe hands with our adventure pros, providing one guide for every 3 attendees to keep things personal and safe.
- Search and Rescue insurance in the very, very rare chance of an emergency – Enjoy added peace of mind in the very rare event of an emergency, so you can relax and enjoy the adventure.
- Backcountry sled instructions – Before heading out, you’ll get step-by-step guidance on building a lightweight backcountry sled to carry your gear to the yurt like a pro.

WHAT’S NOT INCLUDED:

- Keeping the wood-burning stove crackling all night long! Each attendee will take a fun little “fire patrol” shift to toss some wood in the stove between 10 PM and 7 AM on one of the two nights. (Because keeping the yurt cozy is a team effort and we’re in this together!)
- Water and food for the weekend
- Gear (see list below)

YURT AMENITIES:

- 2 queen bunk beds (shared)
- Outhouse on site
- Wood burning stove / fireplace
- Cooking basics (pots and pans, oil, salt and pepper)
- Dishes and silverware (bowls, chopsticks, plates, cups, etc.)
- Stove
- Coffeemaker (pour over)
CARPOOLING: We’ll coordinate as we get closer to the event date.
GEAR NEEDED: A full yurt packing checklist will be provided on January 16. This list is an overview.
- Backpack

- Proper footwear and clothing / layers for weather and conditions
- Hiking poles (optional but recommended)

What to Expect after Reserving Your Spot
- After booking, you will receive a confirmation email. Don’t see a confirmation? Check your junk folder. Not there either? E-mail us at admin@winehikingsociety.com!
- Around 30 days before the event, you’ll receive important information, such as the full itinerary, link to join a private WhatsApp chat for this event, and our trip-specific packing checklist.
- Around 2 weeks before the event, we’ll have a WhatsApp planning meeting to discuss gear sharing and carpooling.
NOTES:
Reservations are non-transferable. Cancellations prior to December 31, 2025, will be eligible for a full refund less a $50 convenience fee. Cancellations prior to January 16, 2026, will be eligible for a 50% refund less a $50 convenience fee. No refunds for cancellations after January 15, 2026. NO EXCEPTIONS.
We want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable experience! If it’s determined after registration that a participant doesn’t have the necessary backpacking experience or meet the basic requirements, they will receive a 50% refund and be removed from the event. To avoid this, please reach out to us at admin@winehikingsociety.com before registering if you’re unsure whether you meet the minimum requirements. Your safety and enjoyment are our top priorities, so it’s always better to check first!
