About This Event

Frozen waterfalls are the best! Let’s jingle all the way to the lower falls in Bell Canyon.

It’s a tough hike to get there, but we will reward ourselves with a festive drink and share our favorite holiday treats.

TRAIL RATING: HARD (1,666 feet of elevation gain) – To join this hard hike, you should be able to average 40-minute miles. While we don’t leave anyone behind, it is important to know your capabilities. That way, you do not put yourself or anyone else in danger. If this hike isn’t for you, no worries! We have lots of awesome hikes that are rated easy and moderate. Search for one here.

LENGTH: 5.5 miles RT

CARPOOLING: Watch for an email from slcounty.whs@gmail.com about 5-7 days before the event for coordination.

GEAR:

• The Ten Essentials
• Proper clothing / layers for winter weather & hiking conditions
• Proper footwear
• Micro spikes (available to rent for $12, please e-mail admin@winehikingsociety.com to reserve)
• Water and trail snacks
• Something lightweight to sit on while we stop to eat and drink (i.e., a backpacking chair, rain jacket, plastic bag, etc.)
• Hiking poles (optional but recommended)

Bells Canyon is a watershed area and dogs are not allowed so please leave your four-legged friends at home.
