Kiki Dreyer

Kiki grew up as a military brat and moved around a lot as as kid. As an adult, Kiki joined the Air Force, where she worked in public affairs until she retired. In 2023, after retiring from the Air Force, Kiki decided to move from Japan to Salt Lake City. Even though she had never been to Utah before, she was drawn to the incredible adventure opportunities the nearby mountains provide. As Kiki says, “Their accessibility from downtown SLC is unmatched.” Kiki enjoys skiing, traveling, catching live music, practicing yoga, and—naturally—hiking. Salt Lake City not only offers all of that, but also comes with a welcoming community of like-minded people to share it with.
In 2013, Kiki hiked Mount Fuji in Japan. Before that hike, she never really understood how strong and fulfilled people feel after such an accomplishment. For Kiki, it wasn’t easy to hike through the night, but the view of the sunrise from the top, along with the friendships made along the way, made the hard work worthwhile. Hiking, to Kiki, is all about connecting with yourself, nature, and those hiking with you.

Kiki’s Favorite Hike:”I love discovering new hikes, so any new trail is my favorite. Something about not knowing what’s to come and being happily surprised when you reach the destination.”

Kiki’s Favorite Wine or Drink: “Nothing beats an ice-cold beer from one of the awesome local breweries in Salt Lake City after a challenging hike.”

Kiki’s Favorite Hiking / Backpacking Gear: “I love my single can cooler covered with my favorite stickers. It keeps my beer cold even on the hottest summer hikes.”
