Cynthia Lazzara
Cynthia is “from” a lot of places. She grew up in Chicago, went to school in Maine and California, worked for a while in Boston, fell in love and moved to New York City, and got married and raised her kids in Connecticut before finally settling in Salt Lake City after she and her husband became empty nesters.
A love for skiing is what originally drew Cynthia to Salt Lake City, but she has since fallen in love with all that Utah has to offer. Cynthia enjoys photography, sailing, paddleboarding, camping, and hiking–of course. As a retired physical therapist, staying strong and working out is very important to Cynthia. It’s all part of her plan to continue to do the things she loves. So, you can often find Cythina heading to the gym. When she’s not at the gym, a sunset over any terrain, enjoyed with friends and a glass of wine will never cease to make her happy.
Cynthia started hiking when she younger. She would go with her mom and her brother on “walks” through the woods. There, she would use her imagination to see Peter Pan’s Hideout, complete with fairy houses carpeted in moss. While she still finds the woods to be magical, going on hikes has become a way for Cynthia to re-center, relax, and connect with friends.
Amanda’s Favorite Hike: “Bell Canyon to the second waterfall; everyone stops at the first one, so the trail is very quiet to the second one.”
Amanda’s Favorite Wine or Drink: “There are quite a few California wines I love.”
Amanda’s Favorite Hiking / Backpacking Gear: “While I don’t take these backpacking, I use some classic Hudson Bay wool blankets that belonged to my grandparents when we go car camping. Some things were made to last a lifetime … or two😉”
