Savannah Area (GA) Ambassador

Aimee Stevens

Although originally from Pennsylvania, Aimee discovered her love for hiking in North Carolina as a way to regain her strength following surgery. Her favorite hikes involve water of some sort – waterfalls, lakes and oceans.

In 2020, Aimee relocated to Utah and joined the Utah chapter of the Wine Hiking Society (WHS). In October 2021, Aimee went on the WHS Beginner’s Backpacking trip to Canyonlands National Park, and she was hooked. After that, she became the WHS Community Service Ambassador and led monthly volunteer events.

Aimee moved back east in early 2023. In November 2023, she became our first Georgia ambassador, leading hikes in the Atlanta and North Georgia Mountain areas. She also led weekend getaways in Blue Ridge, GA and Shenandoah Valley, VA. Aimee made some wonderful friends and left the Atlanta group in great hands when she relocated to Savannah, GA.

Savannah has been Aimee’s favorite city since she was 5 years old. She has always loved the architecture, city squares, southern charm and mossy trees, but she is now exploring both the city blocks and the wilderness of the low country. Aimee is our now our Savannah Ambassador and is looking forward to hosting events in Coastal Georgia and South Carolina and making new friends.

Aimee has been married to her soulmate, Jared, since 2010. Their family includes our WHS Dog Ambassador, Mooney, who often accompanies her on the hikes. Aimee has a passion for all things artistic and creative. When not hiking, she enjoys traveling and hosting gatherings for friends and family.

Aimee’s Favorite Hike: “Paintbrush Divide to Cascade Canyon in the Grand Teton National Park. It was my second backpacking trip, and I fell in love with the park and saw so much wildlife. A brown bear ran through our first camp!””

Aimee’s Favorite Wine or Drink: Pinot Grigio

Aimee’s Favorite Hiking / Backpacking Gear: “My Rumpl synthetic down blanket / so much do that I bought one for each of us. It’s been a lifesaver in keeping things clean and free of dog hair and slobber!”
