About This Event
We’ll enjoy sweeping views from the middle of Snow Canyon by scrambling five of the park’s best known sandstone formations – Galoot, Watchtower, Electric, Stairmistress and Piano Rock – each offering a unique vantage point of the park.
We’ll then stop to enjoy Palomas at a much lesser known location within the park – Graffiti Ridge – a hidden place where people used to leave their mark. This is a moderate hike but does involve quite a bit of modest rock scrambling and some trekking through sandy trail. Please plan to bring good grippy hiking shoes and think about wearing gators for the sand.
The hike begins and ends at the Upper Galoot Trailhead where we’ll have access to lots of parking, bathroom facilities and picnic tables. A state park pass is required.
We can coordinate carpooling and parking for those who don’t have a current state pass.
TRAIL RATING: Moderate (623 elevation gain)
LENGTH: ~4.4 miles RT
CARPOOLING: Watch for an email from [email protected] about 5-7 days before the event for coordination.
