No. Utah: Greyhounds at Dog Lake – Age 50+

About This Event

As we head into the season of celebration, the 50+ grey hounds of Women’s Wine Hiking Society will celebrate every one of those hard earned grey hairs by hiking up to Dog Lake, (this time from Big Cottonwood Canyon), and enjoying a Greyhound (or if it’s really feeling tough we can switch it up to Salty Dogs).

Join us as we share wisdom, laugh at our mistakes and soak up the joy of the here and now.

TRAIL RATING: Moderate (1,473 feet of elevation gain)

LENGTH: 6.5 miles RT

CARPOOLING: Watch for an email from over50.whs@gmail.com about 5-7 days before the event for coordination.

GEAR:

• The Ten Essentials
• Proper clothing / layers for late fall hiking weather & conditions
• Proper footwear
• Micro-spikes, depending on conditions (available to rent for $12, please e-mail admin@winehikingsociety.com to reserve)
• Water and trail snacks
• Something lightweight to sit on while we stop to eat and drink (i.e., a backpacking chair, rain jacket, plastic bag, etc.)
• Hiking poles (optional but recommended)

This hike starts in Big Cottonwood Canyon, which is a watershed area and dogs are not allowed. Please leave your four-legged friends at home.

Happy Hour Beverage (recommended for event): Greyhound or Salty Dog
