About This Event

We’ll hike to the overlook on the Ferguson trail to take in the view and toast this Festive Season with the little known Fergusson’s Frolic cocktail.

TRAIL RATING: Hard (1,459 feet of elevation gain) – To join this hard hike, you should be able to average 30-minute miles. While we don’t leave anyone behind, it is important to know your capabilities. That way, you do not put yourself or anyone else in danger. If this hike isn’t for you, no worries! We have lots of awesome hikes that are rated easy and moderate. Search for one here.

LENGTH: 3.2 miles RT

CARPOOLING: Watch for an email from over50.whs@gmail.com about 5-7 days before the event for coordination.

GEAR:

• The Ten Essentials
• Proper clothing / layers for winter weather & hiking conditions
• Proper footwear
• Micro spikes (available to rent for $12, please e-mail admin@winehikingsociety.com to reserve)
• Water and trail snacks
• Something lightweight to sit on while we stop to eat and drink (i.e., a backpacking chair, rain jacket, plastic bag, etc.)
• Hiking poles (optional but recommended

Four-legged friends are welcome on this hike but must be kept on leash.
