Celebrate Earth Day 2026 the best way we know how—out on the trail!

Join us for a feel-good spring hike filled with fresh air, good vibes, and plenty of love for Mother Earth. This easy hike features a gradual climb and an early thaw, making it the perfect way to welcome the season and enjoy the outdoors without rushing.

Come for the hike, stay for the community, and head home feeling refreshed, connected, and inspired to care for our planet—on Earth Day and every day. 🌎🥾💚

If you joined the 2026 Wine Hiker Hiking Challenge, this counts as a WHS day hike!

TRAIL RATING: Easy (436 feet of elevation gain)

LENGTH: 3.1 miles RT

CARPOOLING: Watch for an email from summitcounty.whs@gmail.com about 5-7 days before the event for coordination, which will include a link to join a private WhatsApp chat for carpool coordination and last-minute event updates.

GEAR:

• Proper clothing / layers for weather and hiking conditions
• Proper footwear
• Micro-spikes, depending on conditions (available to rent for $12, please e-mail admin@winehikingsociety.com to reserve)
• Snowshoes, depending on conditions
• Water and trail snacks
• Something lightweight to sit on while we stop to eat and drink (i.e., a backpacking chair, rain jacket, plastic bag, etc.)
• Hiking poles (optional but recommended)

Your four-legged friends are welcome on this hike but must be friendly towards other dogs and humans.

Happy Hour Beverage (recommended for event): Cucumber Mint Spritzer (vodka or gin + cucumber + mint + soda)
