No. UT: Pi Day at Alien Tower

About This Event

Join us on the 3rd annual Pi day hike! Who knows maybe there will be a whole banana cream pie again (yum!) Bring a pie related desert to share if you wish.

This hike is easy to moderate. It has some steeper climbs but most are short and we will make sure we all hike together to enjoy treats at the tower!

Because of the time of year, micro spikes and lots of warm layers are a must for enjoying some of the best sunset views in the valley.

If you registered for our 2024 Wine Hiking Society Hiking Challenge this hike qualifies as a winter hike, sunset hike and/or a WHS day hike event. Want to join the challenge? Sign up here!

TRAIL RATING: Moderate (538 feet of elevation gain)

LENGTH: 2.5 miles RT

CARPOOLING: Watch for an email from utahcounty.whs@gmail.com.com about 5-7 days before the event for coordination.

GEAR:

• The Ten Essentials
• Proper clothing / layers for winter hiking weather & conditions
• Proper footwear
• Micro spikes (available to rent for $12, please e-mail admin@winehikingsociety.com to reserve)
• Water and trail snacks
• Something lightweight to sit on while we stop to eat and drink (i.e., a backpacking chair, rain jacket, plastic bag, etc.)
• Hiking poles (optional but recommended)

Four-legged friends are welcome on this hike.

Happy Hour Beverage (recommended for event): Make it pie themed as well! Why not! There’s several yummy “pie” cocktails we can try!
