About This Event

Join us for First Days of Spring: Dooly Knob & Spring Spritz Cheers, a scenic March hike on Antelope Island marking the shift into spring.

This rewarding climb begins on the Frary Peak Trail and offers sweeping views of the Great Salt Lake, the Wasatch Front, and the island’s wide open landscape.

Expect rocky terrain, no shade, and possible wind, along with frequent wildlife sightings including bison, antelope, hawks, and shorebirds.

We’ll pause to enjoy a Spring Spritz or drink of choice with snacks before heading back down.

NOTE: Park entry fee of $15 or Utah State Park Pass is required.

If you joined the 2026 Wine Hiker Hiking Challenge, this counts as a WHS day hike and/or a state park hike!

TRAIL RATING: Moderate (711 feet of elevation gain)

LENGTH: 2.6 miles RT

CARPOOLING: Watch for an email from daviswebercounty.whs@gmail.com about 5–7 days before the event, which will include a link to join a private WhatsApp chat for carpool coordination and last-minute event

• Proper clothing / layers for weather and hiking conditions
• Proper footwear
• Micro-spikes, depending on conditions (available to rent for $12, please e-mail admin@winehikingsociety.com to reserve)
• Water and trail snacks
• Something lightweight to sit on while we stop to eat and drink (i.e., a backpacking chair, rain jacket, plastic bag, etc.)
• Hiking poles (optional but recommended)

Please leave your four-legged friends at home for this one.

Happy Hour Beverage (recommended for event): Spring Spritz (prosecco, elderflower liqueur, soda, citrus)
