About This Event
This campground, located just off the Mirror Lake Highway, truly has it all: beautiful hikes, paddleboarding, and—over the August 28 weekend—the amazing 50+ WWHS crew!!
This year, we’re doing a full weekend so we can enjoy all day Saturday to hike, hang out, paddle, and play!!
We’ll plan a couple of potluck dinners and try to figure out which wines pair best with the scent of pine and sunscreen.
So pack your tent and car‑camping gear and join the gang for a fun‑filled weekend in the woods.
TRAIL RATING: Moderate (534 feet of elevation gain)
LENGTH: 4.1 mile RT
CARPOOLING: Watch for an email from over50.whs@gmail.com about 5–7 days before the event, which will include a link to join a private WhatsApp chat for carpool coordination and last-minute event updates.

GEAR:
- The Ten Essentials
- Items on the Day Hike Packing List
- Proper clothing / layers for weather & hiking conditions
- Proper footwear
- Water shoes
- Rain Jacket
- Water and trail snacks
- Something lightweight to sit on while we stop to eat and drink (i.e., a backpacking chair, rain jacket, plastic bag, etc.)
- Hiking poles (optional but recommended)
- Headlamp
- Everything you need to camp for two nights. Non-motorized water craft are welcome; AKA: paddle boards or kayaks.
Please leave your four-legged friends at home.
Happy Hour Beverage (recommended for event): We’ll be doing some pot luck dinners and swapping our favorite wines.
