About This Event

We had so much fun last year, we’re doing it again!

Join us for a Hike-a-bration to celebrate the 4th of July week as we take on a scenic route that gently climbs Deer Crest and winds down through charming mountain homes. This shaded trail leads us up to Silver Lake, then down along the Last Chance and Silver Dollar ski runs.

We’ll wrap up our adventure with a toast!

TRAIL RATING: Moderate (1,063 feet of elevation gain)

LENGTH: 5.7 miles RT

CARPOOLING: Watch for an email from summitcounty.whs@gmail.com about 5–7 days before the event, which will include a link to join a private WhatsApp chat for carpool coordination and last-minute event updates.

GEAR:

• The Ten Essentials
• Proper clothing / layers for weather and hiking conditions
• Proper footwear
• Water and trail snacks
• Something lightweight to sit on while we stop to eat and drink (i.e., a backpacking chair, rain jacket, plastic bag, etc.)
• Hiking poles (optional but recommended)

Your four-legged friends are welcome on this hike but must be friendly towards other dogs and humans.

Happy Hour Beverage (recommended for event): Patriotic Punch = white rum + cranberry juice + strawberries and blueberries to garnish
