About This Event

Join Cindy and Angelique, your WWHS admins, for an epic four-day adventure in the Uinta Range.

Our figure-eight route will take us past sixteen plus (16+) lakes!

TRAIL RATING: Intermediate/Hard (~4,000 ft. elevation gain)

LENGTH: Approx. 30 miles RT

CARPOOLING: Watch for an email from [email protected] a few weeks before the event for coordination. Please plan on leaving the Salt Lake Area at 6 AM, the morning of the event.

ALLTRAILS LINK: Our exact route is not on AllTrails. We’ll start on the Highline Trail, turn onto the East Fork Duchesne River Trial, then again at the Pinto Lake Trail and make our way around Grandaddy Basin. On the way back, we’ll take Hades Rocky Sea Pass Trail to Four Lakes Basin Trail and then continue north back to the trailhead.

Backpacking experience is required.

Pricing is based on each attendee’s ability to be self-sufficient while backpacking. Below are requirements to attend this backpacking trip.

Basic Requirements to Attend: 

  • Need little to no direction on the following:
    • How to pack you backpack
    • What gear is required
    • Clothing and footwear needed
    • Basic trail finding
    • Food / menu planning
    • Leave No Trace Principles

WHS backpacking trips rated as INTERMEDIATE / HARD also have the following requirements:

  • Ability to hike 5-10 miles per day with a 35-pound backpack
  • Average backpacking pace: 40-minute miles
  • Been backpacking two (2) or more times and did not rely on someone else for direction on the “Basic” requirements

Four-legged friends are welcome but must be friendly around both humans and other dogs.
