Age 50+ One Year Boozy Cake Anniversary at the Overlook

About This Event

May 2021 we started our 50+ group with a hike up to the Overlook, and celebrated with an “Old Fashioned” Bundt cake. Why ruin a great thing?! Let’s do it again!

This is beautifully maintained trail ambles up through pine trees, with glorious views down into Millcreek, and off over the Salt Lake Valley from the top. We will take a short break at the top, then come on down, grab a picnic table and enjoy some time together.

Kari will bring two boozy cakes, you bring the drink of your choice. If you’d like to enjoy lunch as well, please bring your own.

TRAIL RATING: Moderate (1,295 feet of elevation gain)

LENGTH: 4.8 miles RT

CARPOOLING: Watch for an email from over50.whs@gmail.com about 5-7 days before the event for coordination.

GEAR:

• The Ten Essentials
• Proper clothing / layers for spring hiking conditions
• Proper footwear
• Water and trail snacks
• Something lightweight to sit on while we stop to eat and drink (i.e., a backpacking chair, rain jacket, plastic bag, etc.)
• Hiking poles (optional but recommended)

Four-legged friends are welcome on this hike. Odd days are off-leash in Millcreek Canyon!
