About This Event

We had so much fun here in the Summer, let’s do again in the Winter.

This trail winds its way around the foreshore of Antelope Island. Its so beautiful in the Winter with all the scrub doused in snow. This is an easy and well maintained trail. A fitting finish to our day (weather permitting) will be a picnic at the covered area by the car park. WHS Ambassador Kari Michal will bring spiced butter, for a hot buttered rum drink. You bring the spiced rum, and your own lunch. A surprise boozy cake will also make an appearance!

Antelope Island is a State Park, please be prepared to pay a fee at the entrance booth unless you have a Utah State Park Pass (regardless, there is an additional $2 fee to drive across the causeway).

TRAIL RATING: Easy (318 elevation gain)

LENGTH: 5.1 miles RT

CARPOOLING: Watch for an email from over50.whs@gmail.com about 5-7 days before the event for coordination.

GEAR:

• Proper clothing / layers for winter hiking conditions
• Proper footwear
• Micro spikes (available to rent for $12, please e-mail admin@winehikingsociety.com to reserve)
• Water and trail snacks
• Something lightweight to sit on while we stop to eat and drink (i.e., a backpacking chair, rain jacket, plastic bag, etc.)
• Hiking poles (optional but recommended)

Four-legged friends are welcome on this hike but must be kept on leash.
