3 Lakes and a Peak (+ a Tailgate!)

About This Event

Starting from Brighton Resort, we’ll take a scenic trail past Lake Mary, Martha and Catherine.

If anyone is up for it, we can continue on and bag Sunset Peak for some stunning views overlooking the beautiful mountain range and lakes.

Not feeling quite up for peak bagging? Don’t worry! Those who don’t want to do the full hike can take a nice break by Lake Catherine while the other portion of the group continues up to the peak.

Going all the way to Sunset Peak is 5.8 miles RT with 1,975 feet of elevation gain. Staying at Lake Catherine is a calmer 4.4 miles with only 1,243 feet. At our stopping point mid-way, we’ll celebrate our hike with hard seltzers or the drink of your choice! Post-hike, we’ll do a tailgate at the Brighton Resort parking lot! Bring snacks and drinks to share!

GEAR:

• Proper clothing / layers for summer hiking conditions (it’s always colder on a peak)
• Proper footwear
• Plenty of water and trail snacks
• Something lightweight to sit on while we stop to eat and drink (i.e., a backpacking chair, rain jacket, plastic bag, etc.)
• Hiking poles (optional but recommended)

This hike crosses watershed areas so please leave your four-legged friend(s) at home.
