About This Event

We’ll head up, up, and more up through the aspens to Dog Lake where we can sit relax and enjoy our snacks.

If you joined the 2026 Wine Hiker Hiking Challenge, this counts as a WHS day hike and/or a lake hike!

TRAIL RATING: Moderate (1,466 feet of elevation gain)

LENGTH: 5.4 mile RT

CARPOOLING: Watch for an email from slowandsteady.whs@gmail.com about 5–7 days before the event, which will include a link to join a private WhatsApp chat for carpool coordination and last-minute event updates.

GEAR:

• The Ten Essentials
• Items on the Day Hike Packing List
• Proper clothing / layers for weather & hiking conditions
• Proper footwear
• Micro-spikes, depending on conditions (available to rent for $12, please e-mail admin@winehikingsociety.com to reserve)
• Rain Jacket
• Water and trail snacks
• Something lightweight to sit on while we stop to eat and drink (i.e., a backpacking chair, rain jacket, plastic bag, etc.)
• Hiking poles (optional but recommended)

This hike is in a protected watershed area where dogs are not allowed, so please leave your four-legged friends at home.
