No. UT: April on Antelope Island ~ Age 50+ Hike

About This Event

Buffalo!!! Grab your cowgirl hat and let’s head out “where the Buffalo roam and the Deer and the Antelope play”. Bring a solid shot of your best whiskey (we’ll skip the barroom brawl).

We’re heading out on the range or as close as we can get. Antelope Island has its own herd of Buffalo. Our trail is long BUT not much elevation.

We’ll give the Knob a try for a hang out and then decide if we go out and back or do the full circle. It will be a casual fun animal hunt.

TRAIL RATING: Moderate (721 feet of elevation gain)

LENGTH: 7.4 miles RT

CARPOOLING: Watch for an email from over50.whs@gmail.com about 5-7 days before the event for coordination.

GEAR:

• The Ten Essentials
• Proper clothing / layers for spring weather & conditions
• Proper footwear
• Head Net and Insect Repellent (the bugs can be bad this time of year)
• Water and trail snacks
• Something lightweight to sit on while we stop to eat and drink (i.e., a backpacking chair, rain jacket, plastic bag, etc.)
• Hiking poles (optional but recommended)

Your four-legged friends are welcome on this hike but must be kept on leash at ALL times.

Happy Hour Beverage (recommended for event): Whiskey …. drink of all real cowgirls … at least in the movies!
