GA: Friendsgiving at Sawnee Mountain Indian Seats Trail

About This Event

This is our Georgia Ambassador’s inaugural WHS hike as guide. Please join Aimee on this easy-to-moderate loop in the beautiful Sawnee Mountain Preserve.

Bring your favorite hiking snack to share and a Thanksgiving-themed cocktail.

We will summit to the Indian Seats, taking in the breathtaking views of the distant ridgeline of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Here we will share a little snack feast with new friends and reflect on the things for which we are grateful.

TRAIL RATING: Moderate (515 feet of elevation gain)

LENGTH: ~4 miles RT

CARPOOLING: Watch for an email from georgia.whsambassador@gmail.com about 5-7 days before the event for coordination.

GEAR:

• The Ten Essentials
• Proper clothing / layers for fall hiking weather & conditions
• Proper footwear
• Water and trail snacks
• Something lightweight to sit on while we stop to eat and drink (i.e., a backpacking chair, rain jacket, plastic bag, etc.)
• Hiking poles (optional but recommended)

You must leave your four-legged friends at home, dogs are not permitted on this trail.
