Alison Bond

Alison was born and raised in a small town in central Utah. She moved to the Pacific Northwest for college and law school. Before moving back to Utah, Alison lived in northern California, Oregon, and Washington. She also spent some time in Alaska.

In addition to being an attorney, Alison owns a farm where she raises bees, cows, horses, goats, chickens, ducks, and geese. She is the mum to 5 dogs, ranging from 10 pounds to 120 pounds, and 3 cats.

Alison’s father was a geologist who used to take Alison and her brother with him to Alaska during the summers. Alison was very young, so her dad built a harness for her on his external frame backpack. He would carry her up mountains and glaciers. Although her dad passed away in 2005, she still connects with him through hiking.

Alison still hikes a lot with her brother. In 2011, she and her brother completed the Annapurna Circuit and in 2013 the Langtang Trek, both in Nepal. In 2015, they walked across England on the Coast-to-Coast trail. To Alison, hiking represents adventure, strength, determination, and fun.

Alison’s Favorite Hike: “The hike across England was my favorite. I can’t wait to do more long distance hikes like that.”

Alison’s Favorite Wine or Drink: “I like a juicy IPA.”

Alison’s Favorite Hiking / Backpacking Gear: “Spikes! I know that’s weird, but I feel very safe hiking in spikes, like I can go anywhere.”
