Cherie Zajdzinski
Cherie grew up in Chicago and never hiked until she moved to Alaska in her mid-20s. She soon fell in love with it. After spending the past 20 years in Alaska, Cherie relocated to Salt Lake to co-parent her teen son after his father made the move. Cherie saw the move as an adventure and change of scenery. In addition to her son, she’s also the mom to a big, hairy German Shephard named Ghost.
Cherie works full time at the University of Utah as a content creator and social media marketer. She has also been a professional photographer for 14 years (@dashinglifephotography ) and still enjoys doing that on the side. For fun, Cherie likes hiking (clearly), weight lifting, fat tire biking, skiing, yoga, pickleball, SUP, and basically anything outdoors. (Except golf.)
Besides all things outdoors, Cherie loves spending time with friends and connecting with people. She’s a people person and extrovert-connection fills her cup. In her alone time, she loves to read.
Cherie’s Favorite Hike: “Druid Arch has been my favorite in Utah so far. That hike was like an amusement park!”
Cherie’s Favorite Wine or Drink: Old Fashion made with Whistle Pig 15
Cherie’s Favorite Hiking / Backpacking Gear: “Snacks, of course. In terms of gear, for sure my first aid kit. I’m a walking pharmacy and it has come in handy so many times.”
