DESCRIPTION:About This Yurt Event\nJoin the Women’s Wine Hiking Society for a Galentine’s Snowshoe Escape! We’ll spend two nights in a super-cozy mountain yurt tucked high in the Wasatch Mountains—offering the perfect mix of remote adventure and easy access. \nSpend your days snowshoeing through a sparkling winter wonderland\, sledding\, and soaking in the mountain magic\, then unwind by the crackling wood-burning stove with games\, laughter\, and good company. \nThis Galentine’s getaway is all about cozy mountain vibes\, connection\, and winter fun! \n— \n——— \n— \nItinerary:\n— \nDay 1: Backpack / snowshoe ~2 miles to the yurt. \nDay 2: Explore the surrounding area on snowshoes\, do some sledding\, and play games. \nDay 3: Bid farewell to our snowy sanctuary\, taking home warm memories and full hearts. \n— \nNOTE: You can backpack in or pull a backcountry sled. (We provide sled building instructions\, or you can rent a backcountry sled from the University of Utah). If you choose to backpack in\, you must have the following backpacking experience: — \n\nNeed little to no direction on the following:\n\nHow to pack you backpack\nWhat gear is required\nClothing and footwear needed\nBasic trail finding\nFood / menu planning\nLeave No Trace Principles\n\n\n\nPricing is based on each attendee’s ability to be self-sufficient while backpacking. Below are requirements to attend this yurt backpacking trip. \n  \n———– \n— \nWHAT’S INCLUDED: \n— \n\n3 days\, 2 nights at a dreamy backcountry yurt – Your rustic\, cozy home away from home\, surrounded by nothing but breathtaking snowy wilderness.\nYurt sleepover packing checklist – We’ve got you covered with the ultimate packing guide so you’ll be geared up and ready for all the fun.\nTwo expert guides with first-aid and CPR certification – You’ll be in safe hands with our adventure pros\, providing one guide for every 3 attendees to keep things personal and safe.\nSearch and Rescue insurance in the very\, very rare chance of an emergency – Enjoy added peace of mind in the very rare event of an emergency\, so you can relax and enjoy the adventure.\nBackcountry sled instructions – Before heading out\, you’ll get step-by-step guidance on building a lightweight backcountry sled to carry your gear to the yurt like a pro.\n\n— \nWHAT’S NOT INCLUDED: \n— \n\nKeeping the wood-burning stove crackling all night long! Each attendee will take a fun little “fire patrol” shift to toss some wood in the stove between 10 PM and 7 AM on one of the two nights. (Because keeping the yurt cozy is a team effort and we’re in this together!)\nWater and food for the weekend\nGear (see list below)\nAlcohol\n\n— \nYURT AMENITIES:\n— \n\n2 queen bunk beds (shared)\nOuthouse on site\nWood burning stove / fireplace\nCooking basics (pots and pans\, oil\, salt and pepper)\nDishes and silverware (bowls\, chopsticks\, plates\, cups\, etc.)\nStove\nCoffeemaker (pour over)\n\n  \nCARPOOLING: We’ll coordinate as we get closer to the event date. \n  \nGEAR NEEDED: A full yurt packing checklist will be provided on January 16. This list is an overview. \n\nBackpack\nSnowshoes\nMicro spikes\nProper footwear and clothing / layers for weather and conditions\nHiking poles (optional but recommended)\n\n  \nThe following items are available to rent in our shop: \n\nBackpack\nSleeping Bag\nSleeping Pad\nMicro Spikes\n\n  \nDue to the nature of this event\, four-legged friends must stay home. \n— \nWhat to Expect after Reserving Your Spot\n \n\nAfter booking\, you will receive a confirmation email. Don’t see a confirmation? Check your junk folder. Not there either? E-mail us at admin@winehikingsociety.com!\nAround 30 days before the event\, you’ll receive important information\, such as the full itinerary\, link to join a private WhatsApp chat for this event\, and our trip-specific packing checklist.\nAround 2 weeks before the event\, we’ll have a WhatsApp planning meeting to discuss gear sharing and carpooling.\n\n  \nNOTES:  \nReservations are non-transferable. Cancellations prior to December 31\, 2025\, will be eligible for a full refund less a $50 convenience fee. Cancellations prior to January 16\, 2026\, will be eligible for a 50% refund less a $50 convenience fee. No refunds for cancellations after January 15\, 2026. NO EXCEPTIONS. \nWe want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable experience! If it’s determined after registration that a participant doesn’t have the necessary backpacking experience or meet the basic requirements\, they will receive a 50% refund and be removed from the event.
