SUMMARY:So. UT: White Sangria on Whipple Trail
DESCRIPTION:About This Event\nEmbark on this scenic hike through subalpine spruce and fir forests\, passing impressive rock outcrops\, and be treated to breathtaking views of Pine Valley and its surrounding mountains. \nAlthough labeled as Moderate by AllTrails\, it’s worth noting that this mountain singletrack trail involves a steady ascent. Beginning at Whipple Trailhead\, the trail immediately starts its upward journey\, weaving and climbing through the landscape. Around the 3-mile mark\, after gaining approximately 1\,200 feet in elevation\, the trail descends 200 feet into Hop Canyon\, where we’ll pause for a well-deserved break with drinks and snacks. \nAnticipate a mix of sun and shade along the trail\, along with the invigorating scent of evergreens. Temperatures on this trail typically range 15 to 20 degrees cooler than those in the St. George valley\, providing a refreshing escape from the heat. \n  \nTRAIL RATING: Moderate (1\,200 feet of elevation gain) \nLENGTH: 6 miles RT \nCARPOOLING: Watch for an email from southernutah.whs@gmail.com about 5-7 days before the event for coordination. \nALLTRAILS LINK: Whipple Trail \nGEAR: \n\nThe Ten Essentials\nProper clothing / layers for weather and hiking conditions\nProper footwear\nWater and trail snacks\nSomething lightweight to sit on while we stop to eat and drink (i.e.\, a backpacking chair\, rain jacket\, plastic bag\, etc.)\nHiking poles (optional but recommended)\n\n  \nYour four-legged friends are welcome on this hike as long as the are friendly towards other dogs and people. SUMMARY:No. UT: Bloods to Brighton ~ Age 50+
DESCRIPTION:About This Event\nJoin your follow age 50+ wine hikers and WHS Ambassador Cynthia on this gorgeous hike. We’ll be skirting Clayton Peak but can sit and gaze at the beautiful view if some folks want to bag it. Once we’ve rested\, we’ll continue down into Brighton through a beautiful shaded trail that comes out at Dog Lake. We’ll end at the Brighton parking lot. \nThis event will take a bit of coordination with carpooling but is well worth the effort. The only difficult challenge on this trail is as we go over the saddle into Brighton\, BUT it’s a short rocky portion. It’s on the uphill\, which always feels more comfortable. After that\, it’s wooded and downhill! \n  \nTRAIL RATING: Moderate (1\,401 feet of elevation gain) \nLENGTH: 6.5 miles RT \nCARPOOLING: Watch for an email from over50.whs@gmail.com about 5-7 days before the event for coordination. \nALLTRAILS LINK: Bloods to Brighton \nGEAR: \n\nThe Ten Essentials\nProper clothing / layers for summer weather & conditions\nProper footwear\nWater and trail snacks\nSomething lightweight to sit on while we stop to eat and drink (i.e.\, a backpacking chair\, rain jacket\, plastic bag\, etc.)\nHiking poles (optional but recommended)\n\n  \nBecause we are ending in Big Cottonwood Canyon\, where dogs are not allowed\, please leave your four-legged friends at home. \n  \nHappy Hour Beverage (recommended for event): Since we’re headed into a ski and snowboard resort\, lets grab a few PBRs and brag about the great day we had on the slopes. \nALCOHOL NOT INCLUDED \n  \nTHIS EVENT IS FOR MEMBERS AGE 50+ ONLY! \n—
